TRIP (Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program) is a fundraising program that allows school families the opportunity to earn tuition credit and raise money for St Eugene School, simply by shopping.
TRIP participating retailers agree to sell gift cards to our school at a discount through a company called Great Lakes Scrip. Many popular retailers participate in the program such as Jewel, Dominick’s, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Aeropostale, Target, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Shell, BP Gas, Maggiano’s, Chili’s, and Wendy’s. A full list of vendors is available at www.glscrip.com.
Through TRIP, member families (you) buy the gift cards at full face value, redeem them for full face value, and the school receives a percentage back for every gift card sold. The percentage received varies depending on the vendor, ranging from 1.5% to 25%. In turn, the school will apply a tuition credit to participating families (you) based on what was ordered. The family receives 75% of the earnings, and the school keeps 25%.
For example, Jewel gives 4% return on its gift cards. When using TRIP, if you bought $100 Jewel gift card to be used to buy your groceries, Great Lakes Scrip will return $4 to the TRIP program for that card. St Eugene School will then receive $1 of that money and you, the purchaser, will earn $3 tuition credit.
The more you shop, the more you can earn. Just by purchasing gift cards to use for your weekly grocery shopping and gasoline purchases, your earnings can really add up! Some families have earned as much as $500 tuition credit in one year!
TRIP orders are placed on Monday mornings when school is in session, and typically are delivered that Thursday. An order form may be downloaded and sent in to school any day, and it will be processed the following Monday. Please include your customer number, which is your parish ID number. It can be found on your church envelopes and tuition statements. Orders may be sent home with your child or picked up in the school office.
